TippingPoint Digital Vaccine Laboratories
DID YOU KNOW... In December of 2007, Microsoft released seven security bulletins which fixed 11 new security vulnerabilities. TippingPoint and ZDI were credited with discovering a total of four of those vulnerabilities.

DVLabs Team

Our team consists of industry recognized security researchers who apply cutting-edge engineering, reverse engineering and analysis talents in our daily operations. The by-product of these efforts fuels the creation of vulnerability filters that are automatically delivered to our customers' intrusion prevention systems through the Digital Vaccine® service. As with any research lab our responsibilities change from hour to hour. At a high level, this is what we do:
  • Digital Vaccine: We continually develop protection filters to address vulnerabilities, viruses, worms, Trojans, P2P, spyware, and other applications to incorporate them into Digital Vaccines. Digital Vaccines are packages of filters automatically delivered to customers on a regular weekly release schedule.
  • Security Research: We employ an impressive group of vulnerability researchers responsible for auditing software, reverse engineering patches, and developing tools to automate these tasks.
  • Security Response: A portion of our team is dedicated to the vendor disclosure process for vulnerabilities discovered both internally and through the Zero Day Initiative.
