Derek Brown
Security Researcher
Derek Brown is a security researcher within the Digital Vaccine group at TippingPoint. He has an academic background which includes ontology design and implementation, stochastic natural language processing, and logic programming. Prior to his position at TippingPoint, he worked as a developer on the GermanFrameNet project for the University of Texas and as an internet application developer for QuantumDigital, Inc. Derek holds a Bachelor of Science in Professional Writing from the University of Houston-Downtown and is a graduate student in the Linguistics Department at the University of Texas-Austin.
Additionally, Derek is an avid home-brewer and a future prize winning barbecue chef.
